This Week In Our Churches
Sunday, October 18 at 11:15 am join us by Zoom for Stone’s Anniversary Service. Our guest speaker will be Henry Reinders, Ontario Regional Representative from the CFGB. Following worship Henry will answer questions and then we will have a PowerPoint presentation of the pictures of all the pumpkin entries, announcement of the results/prizes, and enjoy some other fun interactive on-line activities.
Tuesday, October 20 at 7:30 pm on Zoom for Bible Study. Join us as we continue our study of the Epistles with 1 Corinthians 12.
Wednesday, October 21, at 7:30 pm, Genesis Book Club will Zoom gather to discuss Spindle Fire, by Lexa Hillyer. Join in the lively, thoughtful and thought-provoking conversation.
Thursday, October 22, women are invited to Tea and Talk from 10 am to 12 noon, on Zoom. Bring your tea (or coffee) and snacks and enjoy this time together.
Thursday, October 22, at 7:30pm there will be a Finance and Stewardship meeting on Zoom.
Message from Outreach
We are working on our next venture to replace the traditional Silent Auction in November. We plan to purchase gift cards at Christmas for the food bank clients and Rural Women’s Support Program participants to the same extent as before, especially as we anticipate the need will be greater this year.
Thanks to a promised donation of chicken from Maple Lodge Farms we will be offering opportunity for you to pre-order delicious home-made food to stock your freezer. Think chicken pot pies, butter chicken, chicken burgers and chicken casserole-no bidding involved. There will be other items too. We hope to have our “shopping options” ready in a couple of weeks, and plan to deliver your order in November.
Sunday, October 25, at 9:30 am there will be time to gather on Zoom. At 10 am, join Heather for our Sunday Worship.
Tuesday, October 27,at 7:30 pm on Zoom for Bible Study. Join us as we continue our study of the Epistles with 1 Corinthians
Wednesday, October 28, Rockwood Trustees will meet at 7 pm on Zoom.
Thursday, October 29, come to Coffee Connections for Men from 10 am to 12 noon, on Zoom. Bring your tea (or coffee) and goodies and join in the conversation and fellowship!
Thursday, October 29, at7:30, there will be an Opening Commission meeting on Zoom.
Coming soon – BREAKFAST FOR DINNER – Bidding begins Thursday, October 29 winning bidders will receive their food November 1.

Saturday, October 31, 10 to 11 am there will be Kids Time on Zoom. Wear your Halloween costume if you like and join Heather for a Bible story and activities.

The cost of the meal is $15.00 and will include Chili, Cole Slaw, Nacho chips, Bun and Apple Dessert. Please contact Edie Ward at 519‑856-4765 or email@example.com to place your order by October 30, 2020. We will prepare a maximum of 100 meals and will arrange delivery to accommodate social distancing.
You may pay by e-transfer to firstname.lastname@example.org, cheque payable to Stone United Church or cash. Please place your payment of cash or cheque in an envelope marked with your name and leave on your doorstep for your set delivery time. The driver will place your order on your doorstep and pick up your payment and return to their vehicle. Then they will let you know that your order has been delivered and you can then bring it inside and transfer food from disposable containers to your own dishes.

From The Re-opening Commission
The Reopening Commission continues to set and review protocols for our worship and activities to continue our mission and ministry while keeping people safe. If you have any questions, concerns, or comments, please contact a Bill Allen, Ros Bentley, Barb Eley, Liz Guthrie, Marcia Haworth, Brian Mack, Kay Mathies, Sherol Steinberg, Steve Thomson, Jack Ward, or Heather Leffler.
On-line – In order to care for our congregations, worship, gatherings and meetings for Rockwood and Stone will continue to be held virtually, or outdoors, if there is enough space to social distance.
Outdoors – Church groups can meet in person, outside following public health guidelines, including self-assessment, ensuring there is adequate space to physical distance and wearing masks if needed. No food will be served. If people bring individual snacks, they need to take their garbage home to care for the host and participants.
Indoor Gatherings – In order to care for our congregations, we will continue to use Zoom for worship, groups and committees. Where it is not possible for a committee to meet on Zoom, they may speak to Jack Ward email@example.com or Sherol Steinberg firstname.lastname@example.org about meeting in our churches in groups no larger than 10. They will review the protocols and let you know what space is available. Everyone must sign-in, wear a mask, use hand sanitize, keep physically distanced and sanitize the room after the meeting.
Pastoral Care – Heather is happy to connect with you by phone or Zoom or will arrange to meet with you outside.
Rockwood and Stone – If you need to enter either church please follow the posted instructions and sign-in so contact tracing can take place if needed.
Rentals – New rentals are reviewed by the Commission to assess risk before being referred to the respective Property and Finance Committees. Protocols have been set up for existing renters to follow at Rockwood and Sherol Steinberg email@example.com is coordinating with renters. If you need to enter Rockwood, please contact her first to ensure no one will be in the church.
